All manufacturers in the healthcare supply chain must provide the greatest value for the lowest cost to be sustainable. We recognize the demands of the industry and are prepared to respond. We have developed an expertise in manufacturing medical housings & enclosures. We define this as “Applications used to contain, support and protect diagnostic, electro and other related medical equipment.”
With our low pressure injection molding processes, DeKALB has the equipment and skills to perfect many varying types of plastic enclosures and housings.
The medical industry demands a foundation of quality material, expert engineering and operational excellence. At DeKalb Molded Plastics, we pride ourselves on the fact that our materials meet high quality expectations and we specialize in building structures that are safe, durable and effective to serve the medical community with reliable performing applications.
Below are a few products and segments we have successfully developed for our customers:
- Ultra Sound & Densitometers to measure bone density
- Renal Care with kidney dialysis equipment
- MRI helmets to process images of the brain
- Hematology for Blood Analyzers
- Furniture with Electrical Medical Beds
Our medical housings and enclosures can be tailored to other specific market segments in the health care industry. Being an environmentally responsible supplier, we use millions of pounds of recycled plastic every year!
The low pressure injection molded process at DeKALB is focused on structural foam molding which uses a chemical blowing agent or nitrogen gas to create a cellular structure to reduce weight and cost. Results are applications that maintain strength to weight ration similar to metal.
The other unique plastic manufacturing process we are experienced in is gas assist molding where nitrogen gas is used to hollow out thicker sections of application geometry to deliver faster cycles and again reduce cost and weight. After 32+ years in the industry, our development processes have been perfected to a science.
